To be VERY clear: I NEVER hired Armando, NEVER signed a contract with him, and NEVER became his customer. I was considering using him for hurricane-related repairs after Hurricane Milton, but after dealing with him during the planning and estimating process, I made the decision NOT to move forward with him.
And I'm glad I didn't.
My experience was endless promises with very little follow-through. Communication was slow, timelines kept dragging out, and I wasted a tremendous amount of time discussing the project and waiting for information. Eventually, communication essentially disappeared. That experience alone was enough for me to decide I did not trust him with my property or my money.
Now, long after I decided not to hire him, he is publicly portraying the situation as though I was some difficult customer or that he somehow walked away from my project. There was no project. There was no contract. I chose not to hire him.
What makes this even worse, in my opinion, is seeing him publicly posting pieces of private conversations and attacking my character while trying to win someone else's business. A screenshot without the entire history and context doesn't tell the whole story.
If this is how someone reacts when a potential customer simply decides not to hire them, imagine dealing with a serious disagreement after you've signed a contract and handed over thousands of dollars.
Contractors don't have to accept every customer, and customers certainly don't have to hire every contractor. That's business. Turning it into a public personal attack afterward tells me everything I need to know.
Based on my experience with his communication, follow-through, and conduct afterward, I would never hire Armando Oyola and would never recommend his company.
